Sept. 14 — Fish City Grill. Fish City Grill in the Market Heights Shopping Center will once again sponsor a fundraiser for our chapter, donating 15% of the day's receipts in support of our Soldiers and their Families. This is your chance to enjoy a great Fish City Grill meal while helping us help Fort Hood Soldiers and their Families. Market Heights Shopping Center, Harker Heights.

Sept. 21 — Executive Committee Meeting. Our chapter’s Executive Committee meets at Club Hood today - beginning to 11:30 a.m. We will adjourn at or before 1:00 p.m.

Oct. 12 — Getting Ready for the National Meeting. 5:30 pm. All those going to DC will be briefed of the national meeting's full agenda - and pick up this year's Chapter Polo Shirt. See 'ya there !!! Oveta Culp Hobby Family Support Center,.

Oct. 19 — Executive Committee Meeting. Our chapter’s Executive Committee meets at Club Hood today - beginning to 11:30 a.m. We will adjourn at or before 1:00 p.m.

Oct. 24 — AUSA's 26th Army 10Miler. Begins and ends at the Pentagon - but with 10 miles of DC & VA roads in between..

Oct. 25 — AUSA 56th National Meeting. Washington Convention Center.

Oct. 26 — AUSA 56th National Meeting. Washington Convention Center.

Oct. 27 — AUSA 56th National Meeting. Washington Convention Center.

Nov. 17 — Board of Governors Meeting. 5:30 pm. The chapter will conduct its second quarterly Board of Governors meeting of our 2010-2011 program year today, at Club Hood.

Herzstein Charitable Foundation Supports Fort Hood Soldiers

Mr. Richard Loewenstern, lifelong friend of Albert and Ethel Herzstein and a Board Member of the Foundation named in their honor, described Albert Herzsteinґs evolution from a boy in rural New Mexico to one of our nationґs most successful private businessmen, entrepreneurs and philanthropists. The foundation he and his wife created exists to promote education, serve to enrich the human spirit and work to improve the quality of life for others.

Our chapter welcomed Mr. Loewensternґs comment that the Herzstein Foundationґs purpose matched perfectly with what Americaґs Soldiers do to protect Americaґs freedoms and what their Families do in support - every day!

Major Michael Brough of the 4th Infantry Division described the critical role played by Fort Hood Family Readiness Groups.

It was a theme with which these Family Readiness Group leaders could immediately identify; they represent just a few of the organizations that will immediately benefit from this most generous Herzstein Charitable Foundation gift.

Mr. Richard Loewenstern presented Dr. Jim Anderson, President of our Central Texas - Fort Hood Chapter with a Herzstein Charitable Foundation check for $33,000 - to be distributed by our AUSA chapter to 4th Infantry Division Family Readiness Groups.

In turn we presented the Herzstein Charitable Foundation with a model of the 4th Infantry Divisionґs Operation Iraqi Freedom Memorial.
